Distant landscapes, memories of a time that is no more, death and life rejoice in a sense of belonging: “our love will always survive in every loving life”. With these lines, the new video by the music collective S.T.O.P. takes us to “Another Place”.
The song, written by Chiara Ciccone, was recorded at home, due to the quarantine imposed by Covid19 and it soon became a commentary on the present state of isolation and hope for a better future, marked by solidarity and respect for nature.
S.T.O.P. is a school project of Istituto Lombardo Radice, in the eastern suburbs of Rome. Led by teachers Federico Lama (maths) and Marco Maurizi (philosophy) since 2017, it involves girls and boys who compose, arrange and play their own songs. The name of the band has no fixed meaning: it adapts to different contexts and aesthetical needs (here, for example, S.T.O.P means “surrender to our peace”). The band is currently working on its first album which is scheduled to be released in September.
Paesaggi lontani, memorie di un tempo che non c’è più, la morte e la vita che si fondono in un senso di appartenenza: “il nostro amore sopravviverà sempre in ogni vita che ama”. Con queste parole il nuovo video del collettivo musicale S.T.O.P. ci porta in “Another Place”.
La canzone, scritta da Chiara Ciccone, è stata registrata in casa a causa della quarantena imposta dal Covid19 ed è subito diventata un commento all’attuale condizione di isolamento e di speranza in un futuro migliore, possibilmente caratterizzato dalla solidarietà e dal rispetto per la natura.
S.T.O.P. è un progetto scolastico dell’Istituto Lombardo Radice nella periferia est di Roma. Fondato dai proff Federico Lama (matematica) e Marco Maurizi (filosofia) dal 2017 coinvolge studenti che compongono, arrangiano e suonano le proprie canzoni. Il nome della band non ha un significato fisso: si adatta ai differenti contesti e bisogni estetici (qui, per esempio, S.T.O.P. significa “surrender to our peace”). Il gruppo sta attualmente lavorando alla realizzazione del suo primo album la cui uscita è prevista per settembre.
